Lions, and tigers, and bears..oh my!

So I know you all have been curious...where are you Redhead Runner Girl? Here I am! Don't you worry your little heads. As for an update on my life...it's been another lovely week as a Redhead!Well, I haven't felt like doing too much the last couple of days...of anything, at all! I run, I sleep, I eat, I sleep..and REPEAT it all...and watch lots of episodes of "I Love Lucy" and go to work I guess inbetween.

I haven't mentioned this yet! My wonderful boyfriend Jason got a fish for us about a week and a half ago. He's a beautiful RED fish. Jason loves redheads as much as I do. :) I failed to mention this when I started writing because we were just getting to know each other. I didn't want something to happen to the little red fish and you all to think I'm a crazy fish-killer lady and never read my blog again. You'll be happy to know I take excellent care of little Tobasco. Jason says I shouldn't tap on his bowl when he's floating up top but I worry a lot about him when he does that. Jason said  I'm like Darla from Finding Nemo....

I was thinking I was more like Elmyra:

"I'm gonna hug you and kiss you and love you forever (and never use you up)."

We aren't allowed to have any dogs or cats in our home, landlord's orders! I was feeding a few "stray" cats on my back porch for awhile. One cat stuck around for a while then disapeared. I went out on a run and saw that little cat in the front window soaking up the sunshine in someone's house. Trader. At least he was warm though!

I'm sure Jason thinks I'm crazy, but he knew what he was getting into. I found a kitten at his apartment, Boots, who know resides at my Mom's house. My mother is a saint, but that's a whole other story. Boots was clawing at Jason's front door when I got there. She was only about the size of my hand.

Prior to that experience, Jason somehow found out I was feed a dog some McDonald's for lunch between classes at school. That dog was running around campus and I put him in my car and gave him some food. :) I hear he's been seen around at another home too. Oh well, I do love animals and I love going to the zoo. We go to the zoo at least once month..we're members for the year! That was the best Christmas gift ever. I know Jason loves it too...I'm going  to surprise him this summer when we go and let him get his face painted like a shark... and I'll be a lion with my crazy orange-red hair.

My earliest experience with finding these animals and taking care of them came when I was just a wee carrot-top. Little Lucky was lucky enough to be found by me and he was by far my most beloved animal. Some may say I'm just trying to fill the void since he passed away on February 14, 2009. I found him when I was 5 years old and he lived all the way til I was 22! All my memories involve him. He was a heck of a dog! He was a little Jack Russel Terrier Mix. RIP Luckster :)

So, if you didn't think I was crazy already....bet you do now :) If you ever want to go to the zoo or let me walk your dog/cat..horse..rabit.....just let me know.

Happy Saturday!

The Sidewalk Stumble

I woke up early this morning and decided to do a run outside because the sun was shining and the roads were calling my name. I did a good 8.5 miles, but the real thrill that got my heart pumping came from the fall that I almost endured.  I could have lost my two front teeth as my face plowed into the sidewalk cement. Now, now don't let me fool you into thinking this is something that happens on rare occasions...I came home and told Jason about it. He was about as surprised as he probably would've been if I had told him that I have 10 toes. He admirers my gracefulness.

Mom and I went to pick out a lovely Easter dress. I'm an excellent shopper and I like to think of myself as a real bargain shopper. I usually find all the best things in the store, and then as I continue to walk around the store shopping, I'll decide against all the things I picked up and and leave the store empty-handed. Jason really likes when we go shopping together and witnesses this. I bet the store employees really appreciate it too. I sincerly apologize if you work in a department/grocery/retail store. I've accepted this as a problem and I'm working on it.

I've decided on my next purchase though. A road bike! I've got some searching to do. Hopefully I can find one for me and one for Jason at a good price. Or if not, I'll tie a wagon onto mine and pull him around with me for safety precautions. He keeps me safe. :)

Let the search for a beautiful bike begin!

Hope you all have had a wonderful day! :)

Day 1: Redhead BORN!

As the title suggests, let's start on  the magical day that I was born.
October 9, 1987 the world changed forever
Just kidding.

I know, I know...you're saying "please..tell me more! tell me more!"..but I can't start there. Probably because I could go on...and on...and on... and my whole blog would be over in one day. I would blog myself out and you would be so disappointed because you would never hear from me ever again. What a shame..I bet you're eyes are filling with tears thinking about it. All in good time, my new friends.
My blog was born on this day, so therefore a part of me was also born on this day as the title suggests. And it has been a fabulous day in my redheaded life.
There are few things I enjoy more than a day off work with Jason, a lunch consisting of a ginormous salad bar, a hot fudge sundae, an 8 miler, and a relaxing evening baking a carrot cake for my dad's birthday tomorrow.
You'll soon come to find out that I love salad bars and salads in general. I even play this really cool game sometimes with Jason. We call it "Redhead vs Salad". We have yet to come across a salad that I can't finish and my salad bar visits are marked by numerous trips with plates so stacked so high that I can see Jason trying to cover his eyes as I walk back to the table. I don't know if it's my plates filled with greens spilling off the sides into a trail that leads to the table or my grace that causes him to flinch. That's another thing...I'm super graceful. The first time Jason and I went to Blockbuster we were walking through the parking lot and I slipped and fell on my back on pond of ice. Jason tells me that there was no other ice in the parking lot except for the piece that was the size of a single square of toilet paper that I fell on. I just tell him he's lucky I'm alive after such a spill and that if he had been more careful of where we parked then there probably wouldn't of been a problem. Anyways,  I have never met a salad I couldn't handle and Jason doesn't think there's one out there that could stomp me. He's my biggest (only....) fan. I'll start sharing more and more pictures as I get better at this thing. Jason, by the way, is my the most wonderful boyfriend a girl could ask for. I guess I should have properly introduced him.  He is truly wonderful and so supportive. I'm one lucky girl. He's very strong, brave, handsome, courageous, and he loves redheads. We have another game we play where we spot redheads. This game never ends. He'd be really upset if I didn't point out every single beautiful redheaded person I saw and I know I could barely stand to breathe another breath if he didn't tell me when he saw one of my own.
So, by now I'm sure you're thinking that I could possibly be crazy and that you should call the authorities on me and save poor Jason from me and all my crazy ways. Or maybe you were a lucky one and hit the X at the top of the screen. These are all my sincerest worries. However, I hope you give me a chance and that you find that I may be weird, but I'm okay...sometimes. :)
With Easter soon approaching, I've yet to fine my Easter dress. I plan to dress up like the Easter bunny and chase Jason around after I hide Easter eggs for him that morning. We may be 23 and 25... but I think he'd secretly like it, just like he enjoys sleeping with 3 blankets on the bed and keeping the house at 72 degrees so I don't turn blue. He's never had to say it, but I think he'd really miss it and get cold if I didn't do that for him.
Well, it's almost 11:00pm...way past my bed time. I'd go to bed at 8:30pm every night if I could. If I'm not careful, sometimes I just fall asleep mid-sentence. If any of my posts end like that, you now know why. I pray for a beautiful day tomorrow and I can't wait to see what it consists of. Hopefully sunshine and redheads for all of you :) Be brave and smile my beautiful fellow bloggers.

Day 1 Down. Good Night World!
